Alto de Garajonay

Alto de Garajonay is not a restaurant but the most iconic peak in La Gomera, crowning the island at 1487 meters above sea level. This point of interest lies within the heart of Garajonay National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where hiking enthusiasts and nature lovers can explore spectacular trails through ancient laurel forests and unique volcanic landscapes.

The most popular access route starts from the Pajarito parking area, a well-marked circular trail with maintained steps that takes approximately an hour and a half to complete. On clear days, the summit views are breathtaking, spanning all of La Gomera and even neighboring islands. While roads are well-maintained, caution is advised due to potential rockfalls. This magical place has won the hearts of local hikers and visitors alike, being one of the most photographed and cherished spots in the Canary Islands.
